Resolved Question: What should I see going from Cali to Portland OR?

I will be driving, and willing to take any detour to see something worth seeing. I am very interested in a awesome campsite by a lake, or scenic drives, or short hike to see waterfalls. I was thinking Klamath Falls, Crater Lake (is there anything there?) or maybe head seaside if there is anything interesting there. Anything I should visit in any town, do advise. Thanks everyone!!!! I was thinking to head on the 5fwy because if I just take the 101 then I'm limited to the coast, and I've already been on the 1 along the coast in cali.
